Jaimie Le & Joyce Quon

Presidential Candidate Campaign Statement:
Hello! My name is Jaimie Le. I am seeking election to EEP Club (EEPC) as President. I
believe that holding a leadership role entails serving others and working with others
to achieve a meaningful mission. I have had the privilege of being your past and
current PR Chair and Cohort Representative for the past three years. I believe that my
leadership skills acquired from my experience as an active officer on the EEPC
executive boards and other clubs prepared me for being a better EEPC President. I
learned to carefully plan and complete tasks timely to ensure that club events are
successful, but I can also adapt well to situations when unexpected issues arise. Working in various group settings has helped me learn to work with a diverse group
of people. I openly welcome suggestions and take them into account while planning
events and improving club services so that you can benefit from the social activities
and academic assistance that EEPC offers. I have the maturity, experience, and common sense to provide quality leadership and visionary solutions to old and emerging issues. The skills I developed from my leadership role will enable me to work as a strong EEPC President on the 2018-2019 EEPC board. It would be my honor and privilege to serve you as the next EEPC President.

Vice Presidential Candidate Campaign Statement:
I am running for the Vice-President of the 2018-2019 EEPC administration. As the current Assistant Social Chair, I have helped organize and plan all of your favorite club events this year. I have gained experience by working collaboratively with other EEPC officers and students, and I believe that I can now translate my experience into becoming an effective Vice-President of EEPC. I aim to fully devote myself to fulfilling your needs and wishes. After experiencing unexpected mishaps during this administration, I know how to work with club members and the university bureaucracy in an efficient manner to resolve any administrative issues. I am also always looking to improve communication among students and EEPC officers. I am open to feedback from student voices, so I will be able to more fully recognize your desires from EEPC. I will work as a strong advocate of all EEPsters, and I am excited to provide you with even better social experiences as your EEPC Vice-President.

Hello EEP! We, Jacob and Chris, want to be your 2018-2019 EEPC President and Vice President for the 2018-2019 academic year. We’ve both been very involved in EEP Club and believe we are the most able to continue its greatest traditions while adding needed improvements. And that’s not just rhetoric; we have concrete plans of action for each of our campaign goals.
EEPC’s primary goal is to provide social events and services to our students. As President and Vice President, we would organize both traditional and new events in a way that would increase attendance from all years. We would first improve our advertising, PR, and social media presence across all aspects of the board, from the PR chairs to the class representatives. In addition, to make our events cheaper and more accessible, we will work to fundraise more often. Chris has organized every single fundraiser thus far, and has raised almost 2000 to keep EEPC afloat. We would like to build upon these foundations and fundraise with more than just the typical pizza sale; we will also sell goods like fried chicken, boba tea, or whatever else the public requests!
In our administration, we would make sure to involve all members of the club in the event planning and decision making processes. We would better delegate work between our officers, ensuring everyone has a way to participate in organizing events. The same applies to our general members; we would ensure to always take into account the public’s opinion through polls and old-fashioned word of mouth. We want to make sure everyone’s voice is heard and believe we can accomplish this in an orderly and functional manner.
Finally, we hope to constantly explore new ideas for events and improvements, planning both original get-togethers and revivals of old traditions. We will work with our social committee to bring back events conducted by past administrations, such as park days, movie outings, and more. We believe we can find the perfect balance between EEPC’s “big” traditions, like Big Bear and Formal and smaller events. Aside from this, we will work to maintain EEP Club’s tutoring program while offering new academic services. An alumni mentoring system is already in the works, and we are open to any and all other requests. Finally, we will continue to provide CAPS discussion groups but will ensure all topics planned are relevant and appealing to the public.
We are experienced EEPC officers with hundreds of hours dedicated to the club. We know the ins and outs of university bureaucracy and have been able to get things done in the face of administrative pushback. With our experience, we’ll be able to hit the ground running from the moment we are inaugurated, and we won’t stop until our term is over. Since already know how to keep EEPC functioning, we’re able to focus much more of our effort to implement our promised changes and improvements. We’ve got these ideas and many more, so we hope that we have your support!

Presidential & Vice Presidential Campaign Statement
For the past number of weeks, we’ve been brainstorming precisely how to provide you guys with the best administration anyone could ask for – take a look at what we’ve come up with. As a part of our mission for transparency, we’ll communicate heavily with all EEPsters through social media. The Facebook page will be used in the decision making process, with frequent polling. We’ll always be running an online anonymous form for people to send in suggestions. To keep people updated, the meeting minutes will be posted in the kitchen. Recently we put out a poster asking people for ideas, and someone suggested that EEPC provide free use phone chargers. It’s now our policy. That’s how we want to run our administration: always in touch. In order to encourage EEPC meeting attendance, we’ll always provide snacks. To hearken back to previous administrations, we’ll reinstate the monthly birthday celebrations with EEPC-provided cake. The role of PR Chair will be increased to include the creation and management of an EEPC Instagram account that posts event pictures and advertisements. We’ll also restore the juice machine in the kitchen. It’ll be the lounge manager’s responsibility, along with maintaining a kitchen supply of blue books and scantrons. There will be textbook exchanges every semester. Our administration will focus on cultivating the professional careers of EEPsters of every major, with opportunities to get involved with alumni, and also with meetings on topics such as resumes, internships, and interviews. Right now we’re planning to host more events and update existing ones; Fright Night will have a better haunted house, and Grad Night will happen as intended this year. Another focus will be reinstating an official EEPC Catalina trip for summer 2019, as it hasn’t been possible recently due to a number of roadblocks. We’ll make a serious, dedicated effort to restore this beloved EEP tradition for the coming years. Our administration’s financial policy will be guided by John’s experience as Assistant Treasurer, with us working hard to pay tutors in a timely manner, which will be aided by a huge increase in the amount of fundraisers. A Fundraising Chair will be created, who’ll go to all the ASI funding meetings and manage the fundraising stand. We want the academic chair to be more engaged in EEPC, reach out to potential tutors, and better advertise the tutoring service. The tutoring request form will be updated. We won’t have as many frivolous officers of EEPC, and will make sure everyone does their job. Our appointees will be the best EEP has to offer, keeping the budget stable, the events fun, and allowing the next generation of EEPC officers to pick up the mantle. We’ve poured a lot of work into this campaign with hopes of leading EEPC into the future. It’s up to you to let us.
